Charity Weekend - Friday 12th – Sunday 14th November 2010

We have enjoyed several years at the Shanklin Hotel but many people have asked that we arrange a weekend at another venue. Several hotels in various areas have been inspected and the most suitable is near Bath at Limpley Stoke. This village is at the start of the Bradford and Avon Canal overlooking the River Avon. It is a Best Western Hotel full of character. The hotel has a great feel as soon as you arrive, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. Bedrooms are comfortable with en-suite facilities. A brochure on the hotel is available or visit the Best Western website.

Cost – Two nights (Fri-Sat) half board plus entertainment £120.00 each.

A minimum number of 120 off people required to make the hotel exclusive to us.    

Above prices include a donation to Charity.

The weekend will have a Theme – Candlelight Dinner Dance, DJ’s or Lounge Suit on Friday evening.

Friday 12th November

Travel to Bath – A cream tea to enjoy on arrival can be booked at £3.95 per person. 

Evening meal with choice of Starter, Main Course and Sweet. Menus will be issued closer to the date.

Evening entertainment for dancing.

Raffle and games in aid of Charity. Raffle prizes gratefully received.

Saturday 13th November

Breakfast

Day at leisure. You can visit a place of interest in Bath, take a walk along the canal towpath, or relax in the hotel. The hotel has its own pub in the village at the end of the drive.

It may be possible to organize a trip on a canal boat and a comedy tour of Bath, so please indicate your interest on the application form below.

Evening meal and entertainment as above.

Raffle in aid of Charity. Prizes gratefully received.

Sunday 14th^th November

Breakfast followed by morning at leisure. Lunch has not been arranged.   

Once booked, if you cancel between the date of booking but more than 8 weeks prior to date of arrival and your place cannot be re-sold, the hotel will charge 75% of the cost of the weekend. Cancellation 0-8 weeks prior to arrival will incur a 100% charge. It is therefore recommended that you take out adequate insurance cover. This clause is necessary as last year we did not get to the minimum required number and the hotel on the IOW were going to invoke the relevant clause in the contract which would have meant the organisers having to pay £4000.00 plus in cancellation charges.

It took a lot of negotiation and caused several sleepless nights before this was resolved.
